The SsangYong name is now dead in Australia after almost 30 years.

Following a rebrand to KGM SsangYong Australia less than 12 months ago, the Korean carmaker has now rebranded once again to KGM Australia

This latest rebrand to KG Mobility (KGM) goes into effect from June 1, 2025. It also aligns with the brand’s global identity and brings with it a new brand ‘KGM’ logo that ditches the winged logo.

Australia is one of the last markets to adopt the full KGM branding, following Korean chemical and steel company KG Group acquiring a 61 per cent stake in the company in 2022.

The first vehicle to wear the new KGM branding in Australia is the new-generation Actyon.

Based on the same platform as the recently introduced Torres, this new version of the Actyon is a far cry from the one that was offered in Australia during the early ‘00s.

It’s claimed to have ‘coupe’ styling, though it's still rather boxy-looking, and features more premium finishes than the Torres.

The two cars have similar exterior dimensions (around 4.75m long, 1.9 wide and 1.7m tall) and only offer two rows of seats.

In Australia there will be two Actyon variants offered, the K50 and K60. Pricing is $47,000 drive-away and $50,000 drive-away, respectively.

Both are powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 120kW of power and 280Nm of torque. This is mated to a six-speed Aisin-sourced automatic transmission.

KGM claims this powertrain is Euro 6-compliant and features engine idle start-stop, which helps it reach the claimed combined fuel consumption figure of 7.6L/100km.

Across the range you get features like LED headlights, hands-free power tailgate, dual 12.3-inch screens, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, interior ambient lighting, leather upholstery, eight-way power adjustable front seats, heated and ventilated front seats, and a heated steering wheel, among others.

Safety features standard across the range include eight airbags, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), blind-spot warning, lane-keep assist, a reversing camera, as well as front and rear parking sensors.

Stepping up to the top-spec Actyon K60 gets you features like a panoramic glass sunroof, wireless phone charger, rear door sunblinds, and a surround-view camera.

All 2026 KGM Actyon models are covered by a seven-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty with five years of roadside assistance.
