While the focus has been on Chery's J1 at $9,990 drive-away, moving a little further up the Chery scale you get the larger Chery J3, now priced at $12,990 drive-away.

The Chery J3 Focus-sized 1.6-litre five door hatchback features leather seats, air conditioning, power windows, MP3 compatible six speaker stereo, power mirrors, automatic headlights and wipers, reversing sensors, 16 inch alloy wheels and remote keyless entry.

The engine achieves 87kW and 147Nm of torque, while safety features include six airbags, ABS, EBD and front seatbelt pre-tensioners.

All Chery vehicles sold in Australia are covered by a three-year 100,000km warranty which includes 24/7 roadside assistance.
