I have never bought a new car in my life but, as I near the far side of the 40s, I am on the lookout for my dream car. A Nissan GT-R is what I'd buy if all the Lotto balls fell on Saturday night but, unfortunately, my budget will be $50,000-$60,000. I like the look of the new Subaru WRX STI or a Holden Commodore SS-V Redline. Do you have a preference or would you recommend something else? I like to change gears myself — unless it's a GT-R, of course — so cars like the Golf GTi would unfortunately be ruled out.
Both your choices get The Tick but I'd go for the SS- V Redline because there is nothing quite like a V8 in a performance car and also because the Commodore is coming to the end of the line. See the previous letter.
