I refer to Lisa Conklin's e-mail (27/12/13) about front-end noises from her Suzuki Grand Vitara. I purchased mine new in 2009 and the creaking noises started after about 18 months. After multiple visits to the dealer and independent specialists in the past two and a half years where everything was done from tightening and lubricating the front-end to replacing the front stabilizer bushes and replacing the front strut bearings a few months ago nothing has fixed it. After the last fix did not work I decided to trade it in on a Nissan Navara ST, which I am very happy with.
The noises are most likely caused by a worn or over-tightened bush, or bearing, in the front-end. The people who were doing the work appear to have been on the right track, but hadn't yet found the solution. Trading the car in would seem to be a drastic solution to your problem, but it's good that you are happy.
