No cruise control in Ford Ranger

I recently took delivery of my new PK Ford Ranger XLT only to discover that the cruise control had not been fitted. I was not advised at the time of delivery that it had not been fitted, and have only been told by my dealer that the original supplier has gone broke and it might be mid-June before they can supply and fit it. Ford has said this is an on-going problem with the Ranger at present, and new and existing customers are asked to sign an agreement regarding the options of either cancelling the order, taking a discount on the purchase, or taking delivery of the vehicle without cruise and waiting until it becomes available. As I paid for the vehicle in full including Dealer Delivery charges and was not advised at the time of pick up, what can I do to ensure that cruise is fitted, and should I be compensated for this?

Make sure you officially register your complaint to the dealer and to Ford, I would suggest in writing, so that you will be assured of receiving the new part, or cruise, when it is available. There is nothing more that you could do other than wait until the new parts come on stream once Ford is satisfied they work. You could press Ford for some form of compensation given that they have sold you a car that isn't as you ordered and paid for.
