Whatever yuppie charm this 911 had back in the 1980’s is all gone now.

Built by Scott Girondo in Pennsylvania and covered by Because Daddy, this engine swapped Porsche 930 might just be the best thing in the world. Or the worst.

Running a Honda K20A2 normally found in a Type-R Civics, this swap is probably one of the most gloriously brash engines you could put in a svelt Euro status icon.

With aggressive Stage 3 cams and a 10.5:1 compression, a screaming redline of 9,500rpm, and a legendary GTX3076 turbo, the "Pornda" or "Honsche", uses a myriad of custom fab work and parts to keep it up to spec with the latest 911s and TRD-stickered Civics. And to keep it from blowing up of course.

The Unicorn’s rear wheels are still yet to ravish a local dyno, but my guess is that the power figure will be significantly higher than the standard engine's 193kW.

In an ironic twist of fate however - probably an angry message from the car gods - the car still has pockets of air hiding in the radiator piping from when the car was converted from air-cooled to water-cooled. Due to this persistent issue, the car is unable to run for extended periods of time without seriously damaging itself. Porsches, eh? Like most Germans it'd probably prefer kill itself in a concrete bunker rather than face defeat.

Check out the video below for an in-depth look into the Unicorn.

James Lisle (aka J3) likes all things cars. Cynical and enthusiastic in equal measure, James loves to clamber into anything with a steering wheel and a decent amount of grunt. Although it may seem the J3 glass is half empty on first acquaintance with a new ride, he maintains a balanced approach and will happily lose himself in technical details relating to even the most common, mass market models. Bore and stroke ratios, specific output stats, and thermal efficiency figures are his guilty pleasures.
