Mazda CX-5 2013: Are there costs associated with towing a caravan?
Asked by Ron Kingsley
I’m thinking of towing a small caravan with my 2013 Mazda CX-5. Provided I remain within the stated weight limits for this vehicle, are there additional expenses I should anticipate, e.g. would I need to fit a transmission cooler? Should I expect to increase tyre wear on the Mazda due to towing?
Answered by CarsGuide
15 Aug 2014The CX-5 is rated to tow 1800 kg (braked) and as long as you stay within that limit you should be fine. There shouldn’t be any need to fit an additional transmission oil cooler, and any increase in tyre wear should be minimal.
