Peugeot turned heads in 2009 when it revealed the RCZ, a sleek 2+2 sports coupe that broke away from the brand’s traditional design language. Built on the 308 platform, the RCZ wowed with its distinctive ‘double bubble’ roof, wide haunches and aggressive stance, helping reposition Peugeot as a design-forward brand with driving flair.
Under the bonnet, the RCZ offered a range of turbocharged engines, with the standout being the RCZ R. This 1.6-litre turbo four-cylinder delivered 199kW, making it the most powerful road-going Peugeot at the time. Matched with a sport-tuned suspension and limited-slip differential, it earned praise for sharp dynamics and everyday usability.
Sold in Australia between 2010 and 2015, the RCZ never wore another nameplate in international markets but carved a niche as a more affordable alternative to European rivals like the Audi TT. Today, it’s remembered as one of Peugeot’s boldest and most desirable modern creations."
The line-up currently starts at $13,860 for the RCZ 1.6T and ranges through to $22,110 for the range-topping RCZ R.
Check all the electrics to make sure everything is working, check for a service record, as turbos can be troublesome if servicing has been skipped, and timing chain wear can be an issue as high kays.
