The Deepal S07 is a mid-size electric SUV from Deepal, a sub-brand of China’s Changan Automobile. Launched in 2023, it followed the success of the SL03 sedan and signalled Changan’s intent to push deeper into the global EV market. The S07 arrived with bold styling, a coupe-style roofline and a choice of EV or range-extender powertrains overseas.
Built on Changan’s EPA1 platform, the S07 shares its underpinnings with the SL03. Internationally, it offers single- or dual-motor setups, with the top-spec all-wheel drive version delivering strong performance and solid range. Inside, the tech-heavy cabin features a rotating touchscreen, voice control and over-the-air updates.
Available in Australia, the S07 competes with models like the Tesla Model Y and BYD Sealion 7 in the growing EV SUV space.
The line-up currently starts at $53,900 for the S07 Rwd and ranges through to $53,900 for the range-topping S07 Rwd.
The 2026 Deepal S07 comes in Comet White, Lunar Grey, Eclipse Black, Nebula Green, Celestial Blue, and two optional shades: Sunset Orange and Cosmic Yellow. All are metallic finishes.
Standard features include LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof, heated steering wheel, wireless phone mirroring, and a wireless charging pad. Higher trims add power-adjustable, heated and ventilated front seats with memory. The safety suite covers AEB with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-keeping aids, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic braking, adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree camera system.
Inside, the Deepal S07 features a minimalist layout with a 15.6-inch touchscreen that can tilt towards the driver or passenger. Ambient lighting offers 64 colour options. Dual-zone climate control with PM2.5 filtration is standard, along with rear air vents and a demister system. Sound insulation glass is fitted to the front windows, and a 14-speaker Sony audio system is included.
The S07 is powered by a single rear-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor. Output is 160kW and 320Nm, driving the rear wheels through a single-speed automatic transmission.
