My Ford dealer part-repaired the suspension on my Ford Territory, for which I paid him $650, but he told me the damage was not completely fixed because, he said, there are no parts left to complete the job. He wouldn't let me drive my car, so they towed the car back to my house and told me to wait until the parts arrived. I have now been waiting for nearly a month and there has still been no action. Ford Customer Service said that I should take my car to the dealer where an inspection will be made and cost of repair calculated. The Ford representative said that there has been no recall notice on the Territory. I now have a broken car parked in my garage that no one is willing to fix it, and is unroadworthy. What else can I do?
For starters the dealer has failed to complete the repair he'd agreed to do so you shouldn't have paid any money at all until the job was done to your satisfaction. I would also have left the car there and refused to take delivery of it. The dealer has given you a loan car, so he hasn't left you completely in the lurch. Have him tow the car back to his dealership and have him give you an estimate of the time and cost of the repair and tell him that you will not take the car back until it is fixed.
