I have a 2013 Nissan Pulsar and in the past year I have had the CVT transmission replaced three times. Nissan has provided me an extended warranty as the normal warranty expires this year, however this issue has just happened again for the fourth time this year. I have contacted the ACCC and they have advised me it is up to the manufacturer to either repair/replace/refund. Is there any legal way to seek other resolutions instead of getting this replaced every time?
If we were in the USA your car would be called a ‘lemon’ and you would be getting a refund or a replacement car. Unfortunately this isn’t America and we have pathetically weak consumer laws and an even weaker body (ACCC) overseeing them. You could try to negotiate a deal with Nissan, who I don’t think have a leg to stand on, or get a lawyer involved.
