Nissan Pulsar: What model year?

I've put a deposit on a new Nissan Pulsar Ti but found out after a couple of days that the car is 2013 build but compliance is 2014, which the dealer did not tell me. So what year model is the car? The agreed drive-away price is $25,000 but if it's legally a 2013 model should I demand or am I entitled for a further discount?

If a car is built in 2013 then it's a 2013 model and that's how it will be judged at resale time. You're probably already getting a big discount because 2014 is nearly over and dealers are desperate to clear any cars from last year.
