I was very impressed with the CVT on the 2016 Holden Spark during a test drive. Then when I went to another dealer to test drive a different car, the dealer very emphatically warned me about the car and the CVT saying there have been a lot of breakdowns. The pick up does feel turbocharged and I'm now wondering if that is really suitable for city driving with a lot of stop-starts.
In a word, don’t take any notice of the dealer telling you the CVT is troublesome, he’s only trying to put you off and get you to sign up for his car. The CVT is new to the 2016 Spark, so there’s been to time for it to acquire a reputation for trouble. Everything suggests the Spark is a good car.
