Glue failing on Falcon rear window

The rear window on my 2009 FG Falcon XR6 has come away. The glue was obviously not right from the factory, but Ford refuses to take any responsibility. Should the Trade Practices Act cover it despite it being out of warranty? It would be reasonable to say a rear back window should never fall out.

Providing the car hasn't been involved in a crash or anything else that might have an effect on the window you could have a claim on the basis of a manufacturing or design fault. Either the glue wasn't up to the job, or it wasn't properly applied in production. The car is six years old, however, and it would probably be easier and less painful to simply repair it instead of trying to lever a few bucks out of Ford.
