My new 2013 Toyota Kluger Altitude FWD has a noticeable vibration when accelerating under load between 1000 and 2000 rpm, and when holding a gear on deceleration. Because I mainly do city driving, it's a really unpleasant car to drive. On returning the car to the dealer, they advised me that Toyota is aware of this issue, but has no fix. I pressed Toyota Australia about the problem, but after seven odd weeks they've come back with the line that it's a characteristic of the vehicle. I'm pretty upset given the dealer got me to test drive the AWD version and assured me there was no noticeable difference to the FWD. I notice someone else raised this issue with you last year to which you said it might be an engine mount and to press Toyota for a solution. I pressed Toyota and they don't care, so any further help or advise on what to do next would be greatly appreciated.
It's interesting that the dealer has told you there is a problem, but Toyota denied it. I reckon I would believe the dealer in this instance, and suggest that Toyota is fobbing you off while they scratch their collective heads and try to work out what's wrong. I reckon it's an issue with the lock-up torque converter. Press for a solution.
