Vibrating steering wheel on Falcon Futura

I recently noticed a vibration on the steering wheel of my 2003 Ford Falcon Futura. My mechanic advised me to replace the tyres as they were worn out, which I did, but the vibration was still there. I had the balancing rechecked and that was found to be correct. The tyre people told me it could be the tail shaft or, the bushes, or the clips to the brakes. I took it to a Ford dealer to diagnose the problem and was told it would cost me $150 per hour to a maximum of three hours to find out the problem. Could you please diagnose the problem?

It would seem that it's in the front-end if it's coming through the steering wheel so that would eliminate the tail shaft. Check the wheel bearings, shocks, bushes etc.
