I need to do a 1,000km trip in one day, several times a year. Much of it on course chip bitumen roads. My Ford Mondeo has been great but I find the road noise particularly tiring despite recently trying tyres such as Michelin Primacy 3STs. I am hoping to find a car that is quiet, has comfortable seats with good support and compliant suspension. What is your favourite long distance recommendation please?
The Toyota Camry will be ideal for you, but don't be tempted by one of the sportier models with low-profile tyres. It has a lot of Australian engineering in the suspension and seats, and is currently bargain priced.
