Lubricate over-tightened nuts

I have had the same problem with over-tightened wheel nuts as TJ Smith, but have found that it helps if you use Penrite "Copper Eze" as a lubricant on the wheel studs.

Using a lubricant does help, but it's of no use the first time you have to loosen wheel nuts that have been over tightened. Certainly apply it once you've removed the nuts, that way they shouldn't be difficult to loosen the next time. Another reader told us he carried a long piece of tube that could be put over the wheel brace to provide greater leverage. That also works, but we shouldn't have to carry a length of tube just because someone can't correctly tighten wheel nuts.
