Holden, Ford resale rising ahead of factory closure

The impending demise of the homegrown Holden Commodore and Ford Falcon is already spiking resale values.

Performance cars from the red and blue teams are showing stronger results and this is expected to continue beyond the shutdown dates of the two brands' local factories.

Even the less-exotic Falcon and Commodore models are predicted to stand strong over the next five years

"Commodore V8 models are all expected to perform better than they have in the past as they exit the market. The same can be said for Falcon XR8 and XR6 Turbo models," Glass's Santo Amoddio tells CarsGuide.

"The resale of the vehicles is improving significantly and this trend is expected to continue once they are discontinued."

Even the less-exotic Falcon and Commodore models are predicted to stand strong over the next five years.

"Other models of Commodore and Falcon are not expected to perform as strongly. However there will be additional demand for these cars as they will have some appeal to enthusiasts."
