Skoda Scooter: Boot-stowable transport for Kamiq and Scala

Skoda has unveiled a new push-scooter that is designed to be stowed away under the boot floor of the Kamiq small SUV and Scala hatchback.

The Skoda Scooter is said to “offer a smart and environmentally friendly means of transport specifically designed for cities”.

As part of the “last mile” mobility approach being employed by most European brands, the Skoda Scooter can be stowed in the boot.

It has a patented folding mechanism which allows it to fit “into the spare wheel well under the boot floor of the compact Scala and Kamiq if they are equipped with a breakdown kit”. It measures 49cm by 42cm by 11cm when folded.

When in use, it has an operating limit of 100kg, and is recommended for ages 10-plus.

It isn’t an electrified scooter, and as such, is priced reasonably at 296,800 Czech Koruna - or about AUD$180.

Skoda’s Australian team told CarsGuide that while Skoda has a bunch of cool merchandise, the brand isn’t sure if that item is going to be available to local buyers.
