Subaru XV Reviews
Subaru is famous for its range of rough and ready off roaders like the Outback and Forester, but the small, high-riding XV is cut from a different cloth. Based on the popular Impreza, the XV compact SUV shares its 2.0-litre petrol 'boxer' engine and its all-wheel drive capability, but cloaks it in an off-road flavoured bodyshell that's both practical and a little bit groovy. While it was a slow burner when it launched in 2012, the XV has steadily grown to become one of Subaru's stronger performers. It's not perfect – the 2.0-litre atmo engine is a bit underdone, and the styling can polarise – but the new generation car launched in 2017 will be a solid seller.
