What's Ryan Tuerck's Ferrari-powered Toyota 86 like to drive on the street?

By Mitchell TulkMitchell Tulk

You've seen the Ferrari-powered 86 on the track but what is it like on the road?

US Formula Drift star, Ryan Tuerck and his team have pulled off a pretty amazing feat by cramming a 4.5-litre V8 from the Ferrari 458 Italia into the engine bay of a Toyota 86 (Scion FR-S in the USA).

But you would never expect to see it on the street, hey? Donut Media followed Tuerck around for the day, showing us just that.

Seeing a race car on the road is an awesome sight but you wonder how such a vehicle can be street legal.

This 86 has a spoiler wider than the car itself, no bonnet, it's been slammed to the ground and has two exhaust pipes exiting each side of the front bumper.

With all those aero bits and an engine sticking out, this 86 was always going to to get the wrong attention. (image credit: Donut Media) With all those aero bits and an engine sticking out, this 86 was always going to to get the wrong attention. (image credit: Donut Media)

Yet Tuerck can drive this all over New Hampshire, USA and even travel to the town's local takeway shops while bringing him all the attention a race car would.

The Ferrari-powered Toyota coupe isn't all stripped out as you may think. There are some luxuries such as power windows and a sound system…which is the engine.

In fact, the ‘sound system’ is so loud that poeple made a noise complaint to the police during the recording, not that the cop did anything about it, he just encouaged Tuerck saying "I would love to hear it when you take off". What a good sport.

If you could daily a race car what would it be? Let us know in the comments.
