The word Volvo is enough to put most people to sleep, bringing to mind the beige boxes it built during the ‘70s, ’80s and ‘90s.
However, Swedish YouTuber Peter Biorch spiced up his 245 wagon by slipping a turbo 2JZ under the bonnet to create a drift machine.
If you still find that boring, Peter has recently ditched the in-line six in favour of Lambo’s 5.0-litre V10.
Called “Volvoghini”, the V10 isn’t just from any old Gallardo, it’s taken from a GT2 race car.
Before you get too excited, the engine has a cracked block caused from a crash at the Dubai 24-hour race.
Peter has failed to find a replacement and is resorting to welding the crack… Best of luck with that.
The problems don’t stop there. The V10 fits snuggly in the engine bay, but leaves little room for an exhaust manifold, steering rack and accessories.
Because of the lack of space, the six-speed ZF manual – taken from a BMW 535i F10 – also needs to be fitted somewhere in the back.
Peter aims to keep the car looking stock, while he wants power to be over 370kW (500hp). We look forward to seeing the end result.
Will the Volvoghini be the ultimate sleeper? Let us know in the comments.
