Speed and fury summarises a Lada's lap of the Nurburgring

By Mitchell TulkMitchell Tulk

You really can race anything on the Nürburgring.

When taking to the Nürburgring, most drivers option to take their own car or to rent high-end performance cars like a Porsche 911 or BMW M3.

However, for YouTube star, 'Boosted Boris' none of this ‘capitalist’ machinery is enough to quench his thirst for speed.

The only car that can do so is the Russian-built 1973 Lada VAZ-2101. With a powerhouse, 1.2-litre four-cylinder engine that sends 44kW to the rear wheels, the factory claimed top speed of 142km/h but as seen in the video the car can actually hit 150km/h.

Despite the dizzying speed, the Lada gets left behind by everything (surprising, right?), even a Toyota Prius walks past the small sedan.

Yet, the most impressive part of the video is when Boris overtakes a BMW M4 and remains in front for a few corners before reaching a hill.

You can see why Peter Brock imported and modified the Lada Samara, the company's vehicles clearly have sporting potentials.

What car would be slower than the Lada around the ring? Let us know in the comments.
