The SQ5 Edition One is a special launch variant in the new-generation Q5 line-up.
It sits second from the top to the full-fat SQ5, as a more lean spec at a more appealing price-point.
Starting from $106,400, the SQ5 ups the ante bringing the six-cylinder 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 drivetrain back. This time it is paired to the same MHEV+ system which adds an additional 18kW/230Nm in the gearbox, and it drives all four-wheels via a seven-speed auto transmission.
Power is 270kW/550Nm allowing a 0-100km/h sprint time in 4.5 seconds. Thanks to its mild-hybrid assist, it consumes 7.6L/100km of premium unleaded fuel.
Standard kit includes 20-inch black metallic alloys, a black exterior highlight pack, red brake callipers, S-Sport suspension and privacy glass in the rear.
This is on top of the standard items which include matrix LED headlights, an 11.9-inch digital dash, and a 14.5-inch multimedia touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, online connectivity with built-in navigation, an eight-speaker sound system, leather interior trim with brushed aluminium inlays, a wireless phone charger, 360-degree parking camera, power adjust and heated front seats, tri-zone climate, as well as keyless entry and push-start ignition.
The boot in all Q5 variants is 520 litres with the second row up or 1473 with them down, although none feature a spare wheel with only a repair kit under the floor.
The Q5 range is covered by a five-year and unlimited kilometre warranty, while servicing is most affordable when five years are purchased up front at $3560 ($712 per year) for V6 variants. Servicing is required once every 12 months or 15,000km.
