    Ferrari’s 488 was the car that served notice that the brand that perhaps did more than any other to shape the concept of a performance car, was continuing to evolve, and taking its product with it. The 488 was not just a combination of all the things that had made mid-engined Ferrari cars great, it was also a thoroughly modern interpretation of that concept and took the idea of efficiency and low emissions to a new high for the company. While the fundamentals of a Ferrari sports car – two-door, two-seat layout and a mid-mounted V8 engine – remained, the specifics were brought bang up to date. That centred around the introduction of a smaller, 3.9-litre engine but one that now sported a pair of turbochargers to improve fuel efficiency and slash tailpipe emissions. That it could do so while still increasing power, torque and performance is testament to the work of Ferrari’s engineers and designers. This car, in the stunning colour combination of Rosso Corsa over Beige Tradizione leather, presents in immaculate condition with little more than 5,000 km showing on its odometer. Built in 2018, its sparing use has maintained its as-new appearance and mechanical condition and it has been heavily optioned from the factory, increasing its appeal even further. Clever touches include the fitment of a suspension lifter to allow the car to function in a modern urban environment. Inside, the Cavallino headrests, special stitching, fully electric seats, front and rear parking sensors, rear parking camera and carbon-fibre steering wheel with LED shift-lights. Externally, the 20-inch Grigio Corsa forged alloy wheels with their dark finish and yellow brake callipers complete what is a classic picture.
