Your Opportunity: It is not often that you come across a 1954 C1 Corvette in Australia that has been restored to this level. Restored in America, where they know these cars inside and out, the car looks spectacular and is an American icon. The standard of this restoration is better than when it left the factory with only 837 miles showing since. A fibreglass body on a steel chassis made this car a standout in styling and the Corvette was a start of a new generation in sports car history.
The 1954 Corvette was the second year these cars were ever produced with only 300 cars made in 1953 and only 3,640 cars made in 1954, making these quite rare and collectible in today's Collector Car Market. There are not many here in Australia and with all the new regulations, import taxes, luxury car tax, GST, shipping, exchange rate, time and an extreme amount of effort, why would you bother when you have one right here in Sydney!
Specifications:
Engine - 3.85 Litre / 235 cubic-inch OHV 6 cylinder “Blue Flame”, Normally aspirated with triple carburettors, water-cooled
Power - 150/155 Hp @ 4,200 rpm / 223 lb-ft @2400 rpm
Transmission - 3 Speed manual (originally 2-speed automatic) A tasteful change to a real sports car.
Brakes - Four-wheel drum brakes
Wheels - 15 x 5 inch rims with 15 x 6 inch tyres
The standard of the restoration on this beautiful C1 Corvette is very high and at a concourse level. The vehicle also includes the side window glass, which are very rare and are in their proper placement in the boot housed in a vinyl storage bag for protection. This C1 also includes the Hard Top, which I imagine wouldn't get much use as open top driving would be go coming into the warmer weather. It would have been an amazing time to be back in that era of these motor cars. The classic design is awesome and would make a great addition to any collection or start-up collector. Imagine driving this to your Cars and Coffee on Sunday mornings. Forget about the Lambo, you will be the one they look at!
During the restoration, the following upgrades were made to enhance this C1 Corvette: 3 speed manual transmission (period), AM/FM Radio, 12 volt battery system and black soft top.
Don't think too long about it, it won't last!
