Why now is the best time to buy a new car 

There might not be a better time to buy that new car you’ve been thinking about. 

Several carmakers are offering deals to shave off some of the cost of buying a car this weekend.

Here are some of the deals out there.

BYD: 

BYD is offering $4500 cashback and a free upgrade to the Deep Sea Blue paint on its popular Shark 6 plug-in hybrid ute. 

The ute normally starts from $57,900, before on-road costs, but this deal reduces the price to $53,400. The deal also includes a free paint upgrade to the Deep Sea Blue colour, which would otherwise cost $700. 

That’s not the only offer from BYD, with $3000 cashback being offered across its range. 

This includes Sealion 7 all-electric mid-size SUV and PHEV Sealion 6. The same deal applies to its Seal sedan, and Dolphin hatchback as well as the Atto 3 compact SUV. 

Xpeng: 

Until 1 December, Xpeng’s G6 mid-size SUV will be available with $5000 cashback and five years free servicing.

As part of the deal, buyers can also opt to purchase an extended 10-year vehicle and battery warranty for $880.

The G6 comes as an all-electric only, usually starting from $54,800 before on-road costs. 

Mahindra: 

Indian challenger brand Mahindra is offering some serious discounts across its range. 

As part of its plate clearance, buyers can pick up an XUV AX7 mid-size SUV for $35,990, drive-away which is a $4000 discount. This is also applicable to the up-market AX7L now priced at $38,990.

Mahindra is offering $3000 off its Scorpio Z8 and Z8L large SUV models as well. 

Kia: 

Until 30 November, Kia is offering gift cards ranging from $1000-$2000 on demo models for all its vehicles. 

All petrol and diesel variants come with a $1000 gift card, such as the popular Carnival people mover and one of Australia’s cheapest new cars, the Picanto hatch. 

In addition, the brand's all-electric range is being offered with a $2000 gift card, as does the recently-introduced Tasman ute.

Chery: 

Chery has put up some deals on its SUVs until December 31. 

Its C5 crossover SUV now comes in $2000 cheaper as does its hybrid Tiggo 7 mid-size SUV and Tiggo 8 large SUV.
