If you were thinking about picking up a Lexus LM luxury people mover to ferry the toddlers around in, you might want to reconsider - or scotchgard the seats - as Lexus has confirmed pricing for its luxurious van.

Starting at a price that doesn’t quite rival the Kia Carnival is the Lexus LM350h Sports Luxury, a two-wheel drive and hybrid-assisted variant of the LM, at $160,888 before on-road costs - a little less than a V8-powered Audi SQ7 or a 345kW Porsche Cayenne e-Hybrid SUV.

Initially, Lexus will offer the LM people-mover in a seven-seat version only, with an all-wheel drive version of the LM350h Sports Luxury also set to be available from $165,888.

The LM still features “two reclining business-class-like seats” in the second row, with the third able to be folded away for luggage space.

Lexus Australia has also confirmed that in early 2024 a new top-spec variant will arrive, the four-seat LM500h Ultra Luxury, which will be priced from $220,888.

Powering that all-wheel drive variant will be the brand’s 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder hybrid-assisted engine.

The four-seater, with only two “first-class” rear seats, will also feature a glass panel able to be raised for privacy from the front seats, possibly to enjoy the 48-inch widescreen along and 23-speaker Mark Levinson sound system.

Lexus Australia Chief Executive John Pappas called the LM “a great Lexus to drive but an even better Lexus to be driven in”.

"There is no Lexus like it, and almost certainly no other vehicle like it. It is the ultimate expression of Lexus 'making luxury personal’.”

Mr Pappas added interest in the LM has been through the roof, and as such “the reality is that demand will initially exceed supply for this vehicle by a significant margin”.

The LM luxury people mover goes on sale later this year.
