Volkswagen Australia has announced pricing and specifications for its 2019 Tiguan Wolfsburg Edition, with 500 initially going on sale.

The Tiguan Wolfsburg Edition lists for $55,490, a $6000 premium over the 162TSI Highline grade it’s based on, but it receives a substantial bump in extra equipment.

This includes the 'R-Line Package' which adds a tough body kit, the 'Sound and Vision Package' (which brings the 'Active Display' instrument cluster and premium sound system), and a head-up display.

  • Colour choices include 'Oryx White Pearlescent', 'Iridium Grey Metallic', and 'Deep Black Pearl Effect'. Colour choices include 'Oryx White Pearlescent', 'Iridium Grey Metallic', and 'Deep Black Pearl Effect'.

This is in addition to the 162TSI Highline’s regular standard features such as the 8.0-inch touchscreen with sat nav, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, three-zone climate control, leather upholstery and of course the 162kW/350Nm 2.0-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine.

The Tiguan Wolfsburg Edition also comes with black body enhancements in the form of 20-inch 'Glossy Black' 'Suzuka' design wheels; while the grille, side door strips, window frame surrounds, mirror caps, rear spoiler and roof rails also get the black treatment - even the rear windows have a 90 per cent light absorbing dark tint.

Premium paint is also thrown in at no extra cost with colour choices including 'Oryx White Pearlescent', 'Iridium Grey Metallic', and 'Deep Black Pearl Effect'.
