Mitsubishi’s Pajero Sport is the latest model to receive the Arctic Trucks treatment, following builds available for the Toyota HiLux, Isuzu D-Max and Volkswagen Amarok.
Designed to tackle the toughest of terrain, the Pajero Sport AT356 scores a number of upgrades including 17-inch wheels shod in 315/70 all-terrain rubber, an increase in ride height, a widebody kit top accommodate the wider track width.
The result is 270mm of ground clearance, up a substantial 52mm from a stock Pajero Sport, as well as an increase to approach and departure angles to 34.5 and 28.8 degrees respectively.
Buyers hoping for a boost in power will be disappointed however, as the Pajero Sport AT35 retains the standard engine as before.
This means a 2.4-itre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine sending 133kW/430Nm to all four wheels via an eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Of note, the Pajero Sport is also offered with a 3.0-litre petrol V6 engine in overseas markets like Russia and the Middle East, which punches out 162kW/285Nm.
