Tickford Racing reveals XC Cobra livery for Frosty's Bathurst Falcon

It’s been 40 years since the Ford XC Falcon Cobras of Allan Moffat and Colin Bond assaulted The Mountain, and for the 2018 Bathurst 1000 Tickford Racing team drivers Mark Winterbottom and Dean Canto’s FGX Falcon will carry the same colours.

For Bathurst only, the number five Falcon will ditch its typical bright green Bottle-O design in favour of the iconic combined 'Sno White', 'Bold Blue', and 'Olympic Blue' livery as seen on Moffat’s ’78 cars.

At the same time, Tickford has made the white with blue racing stripes design available on its new road-going TSV-535R Mustang.

The TSV-535R isn’t just a sticker package, it takes a standard Mustang GT and adds a carbon-fibre aero kit, unique alloys wheels, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres, Alcantara and nappa leather interior, plus a leather/carbon-fibre steering wheel.

The TSV-535R isn’t just a sticker package, as it adds plenty of kit over the standard Mustang GT.

Under the hood, the 5.0-litre V8 gets Tickford’s ECU recalibration to increase outputs to 400kW/632Nm.

This news follows Nissan's unveiling of a retro livery for Rick Kelly’s Altima race car, which is a throwback to the Larry Perkins and the late Gregg Hansford’s ’93 Bathurst winning VP Commodore.

Practice for the Bathurst 1000 kicks off on Thursday the 4th of October, with the race starting at 11:10 on Sunday 7th.

Should there be more retro liveries outside of the Sandown 500? Let us know in the comments.
