The current Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio mid-size sedan and SUV pair have been on the market for about a decade but they aren’t going anywhere soon, according to the Italian carmaker.
Despite rumours of next-gen models with hybrid and electric power, Alfa Romeo Head of Product Mario Lamagna told CarsGuide, that vehicles built on the Giorgio platform (i.e. the Giulia and Stelvio) will live on for two more years.
“In terms of future development, you will have to stay turned for future news about that,” said Lamagna.

“But we are still offering the Giorgio platform for, I mean, this year and next year. For sure there will be Stelvio and Giulia on the market.”
This theoretically means Alfa Romeo is planning to launch the next-generation Giulia and Stelvio in 2027, if not sooner.
Earlier this year Alfa Romeo CEO Santo Ficili said the new Stelvio will be revealed in 2025 and launch in 2026, with the new Giulia set to follow. However, it’s unclear if this is still the case.
“I also discussed the future product plan with industry experts, including the global reveal of the new Stelvio in 2025, with commercial launch in 2026,” he said in a post on LinkedIn.
“The new Giulia will follow, and both models will be produced in Italy. Thanks to the STLA Large multi-energy platform, they will also be available with a hybrid gasoline version.
“The New Era of Alfa Romeo is just around the corner.”
Both the new Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio will share the STLA Large platform with the Dodge Charger, which is offered with internal-combustion and electric powertrains.
Former Alfa Romeo CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato hinted a high-performance Quadrifoglio electric variant will offer 735kW, which is nearly double what the current Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio with its 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 produces.
The aforementioned hybrid version could use a version of Stellantis’ inline-six turbo-petrol ‘Hurricane’ engine.
Render images of the new Stelvio have previously been shared online, showing a completely redesigned exterior with smoother lines.
At this stage no imagery of the new Giulia has appeared online, though it’s likely to adopt a similar look to the Stelvio.
The current-generation Alfa Romeo Giulia was first revealed in 2015 and the Stelvio followed in 2016. Facelifts for both models arrived around 2022/2023 along with plenty of special-edition versions.
In the first nine months of 2025 a total of 165 Giulia and 98 Stelvio examples have been sold. This is down 3.5 per cent and 9.2 per cent, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
