LDV has given its affordable D90 seven-seat SUV its biggest update since going on sale locally in 2018.
Available for purchase now, the new D90 packs a more powerful turbo-petrol engine paired with a new six-speed transmission, an array of extra kit and new exterior and interior design upgrades.
For now, LDV has dropped the top-spec diesel-powered Executive 4WD from the range, with the three-strong line-up now consisting exclusively of petrol vehicles. That said, LDV has confirmed a diesel variant is under examination for Australia.
The bottom-spec Executive Mode 2WD will now start at $43,147, representing a price increase of $4210. The now mid-spec Executive 2WD is $4211 more expensive at $47,358, while the now top-spec Executive 4WD petrol is also $4210 more at $51,042. All prices are national drive-away.
ABN holders can get their hands on a cheaper deal with adjusted national drive-away prices of $40,990, $44,990 and $48,490 moving up the range.
Despite the entry-level price hike, the D90 remains competitively priced, undercutting key seven-seat rivals such as the Ford Everest ($54,240), Isuzu MU-X ($47,400) and the Toyota Fortuner ($53,775), all of which are priced before on-road costs.
The D90 also has its rivals beaten comfortably in dimensions, growing by 41mm in length and 1.0mm in height for 2025, for total measurements of 5046mm long, 2019mm wide, 1876mm tall with a 2950mm wheelbase.
It looks a lot meaner for 2025, as well, with a completely redesigned front end consisting of a blacked-out front grille, a thinner, more menacing LED headlight design, new side air intakes and a new front bumper with off-road styling.
At the rear, there is now an LED tail-light bar, a brand new rear bumper with a similar off-road effect and faux chrome exhaust pipes.
The rest of the body has a two-tone effect going on, with the side mirror window housing, window arches, wheel guards and standard 18-inch alloys contrasting with the body colour in black.
Underpinning the upgraded D90 is a new 2.0-litre turbo-petrol, four-cylinder with the previous generation’s eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission relaced by a six-speed unit.
The new configuration generates a maximum of 184kW/410Nm, a sizeable increase over the previous D90’s 160kW/350Nm.
LDV claims it also improves fuel economy by 10.8 per cent from 10.2 litres/100km on last year’s petrol 2WD variant to 9.4L/100km on this year’s.
The top-spec 4WD petrol model sees an even bigger decrease of 13.8 per cent over its predecessor from 10.9L/100km to 9.4L/100km.
Inside, LDV has added twin 12.3-inch displays for the multimedia and digital driver’s display functions and synthetic leather upholstery as standard, while the central gear shifter has migrated to the steering column making room for a central storage area.
Additional technology and safety features now standard across the range include bi-LED headlights and LED tail-lights, an integrated dash cam, wired Android Auto (which joins wired Apple CarPlay), lane-keep assist, lane-change assist, driver and front passenger door exit warning (cyclist and traffic detection) and a fatigue reminder and attention assist system.
The Executive 4WD adds a sunroof, a power tailgate, dual wireless smartphone charging pads, ambient lighting, a heated steering wheel, an auto-dimming rear view mirror, rear privacy glass, a height and reach adjustable steering column and an eight-way electronically adjustable driver’s seat with four-way lumbar support.
The top-spec Executive 4WD adds a proper 4WD system with crawl control, rear and centre differential locks and an ‘All-Terrain’ system dial with selectable terrain modes.
There are four premium paint options available for an additional $500. These include 'Natural White', 'Spruce Green', 'Metal Black' and 'Metal Ash'.
Customers can spend an additional $2000 to add a black roof which pairs exclusively with Natural White or 'Concrete Grey'.
The D90 is covered under a seven-year/200,000km warranty with recommended service intervals of 12 months/10,000km.
