Nissan offers five-year warranty across entire range

Nissan will at last offer a five-year, unlimited-kilometre range across its entire range

The top-10 automotive brands in Australia now offer at least a five-year warranty, with Nissan announcing a new, longer warranty period across its entire range.

Nissan was the only brand in Australia's top 10 that had resisted the industry shift from a three- to five-year warranty period, but has today announced the change to its coverage program.

Every Nissan model, including the incoming Leaf EV, will be covered by a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.

The change, effective immediately, only impacts private buyers, but it also includes free roadside assistance that spans the entire warranty period.

"A five-year warranty provides our customers with both confidence in the Nissan brand and our vehicles," says Nissan Australia managing director, Stephen Lester.

"Nissan is committed to delivering the best total ownership experience, and whether its sales, service or finance, warranty plays an important role in delivering complete customer satisfaction."

Fellow Japanese brand Toyota increased its warranty period to five years in January, while every other brand in Australia's top 10 (Toyota, Mazda, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Ford, Holden, Kia, Nissan, Volkswagen and Honda as of December 2018) now offers 60 months coverage as a minimum.
