Nissan Navara 2022: Australian pricing announced for new Style and Off-Road packs to lure buyers away from Mitsubishi Triton and Mazda BT-50

Two options packs will now be available on the Nissan Navara, a Style Pack or an Off-Road Pack (pictured).

Nissan has effectively introduced two new variants into the Navara range with a pair of option packages that add either style or off-road capability.

Available on the entry-level SL dual-cab 4x4 model, the Style Pack adds N-Trek alloy wheels, a soft tonneau cover, nudge bar, smoked weathershields, smoked bonnet protector and all-weather floor mats (both front and rear).

It’s priced from $49,490 before on-road costs for the manual and $50,990 for the automatic model, representing a respective $2890 and $1890 price jump over the standard SL. All prices are drive-away for ABN buyers, adding to the value equation of the new additions.

The Off-Road Pack includes many of the same elements including the soft tonneau cover, nudge bar, smoked bonnet protector and weathershields, and floor mats, but gets a snorkel and ‘Solar’ alloy wheels fitted with off-road tyres.

Pricing for SL equipped with the Off-Road Pack starts at $50,490 for the manual and $51,990 for the auto – that’s an extra $3890 and $2890 respectively.

Despite the extras, those prices still position the new additions beneath the ST dual-cab Navara models, which start at $52,280.

Both new grades are based on the SL model grade, which is powered by the 2.3-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine making 140kW/450Nm. The transmissions are a six-speed manual or seven-speed torque converter automatic.

Standard equipment on the SL includes keyless entry, cloth trim and 7.0-inch driver display. It also comes equipped with autonomous emergency braking (AEB), hill-start assist, cruise control, automatic headlights, trailer-sway control, a reversing camera and seven airbags.

The addition of the option packs comes as Nissan attempts to close the gap between the Navara and the two utes that sit ahead of it on the sales charts – the Mitsubishi Triton and Mazda BT-50 – with more Australian specific packages.

The Style and Off-Road Packs join the locally-developed PRO-4X Warrior, which is a Nissan Australia-led project supported by the engineering expertise from Premcar. The launch of the Warrior has been delayed by the pandemic lockdowns in New South Wales and Victoria, but the company is confident it will hit showrooms shortly.

The Warrior is a direct attempt to take on the range-topping Ford Ranger Raptor and Toyota HiLux Rugged X as the dual-cab ute market continues to push upwards in Australia.
