Subaru Australia has confirmed its model year 2021 Forester Sport will touch down in local showrooms next month to take on the popular Toyota RAV4 and Mazda CX-5.
Priced from $41,990 before on-road costs, the Sport grade slots in as the penultimate non-hybrid
Forester above the 2.5i Premium ($39,940) but below the 2.5i-S ($42,990).
Despite its more aggressive visage, the Sport is still powered by the same 136kW/239Nm 2.5-litre
petrol engine as the rest of the non-hybrid Forester line-up – as previously reported.
However, for the 2021 model year,
Subaru has upped the maximum towing capacity from 1500kg to 1800kg in all variants with the 2.5-litre engine.
Drive is sent to all four wheels via a
continuously-variable automatic transmission.
Differentiating the Sport is a number of blacked-out exterior flourishes, including 18-inch wheels, foglight surrounds, front grille and rear garnish, while the roof rails and lower body cladding score splashes of orange.
Inside, the Sport is fitted with an electric sunroof, water-repellent cloth trim, and orange and black detailing.
The Sport is also the only Forester available with a ‘Dark Blue’ exterior colour, while the MY21 updates include new headlights, auto door lock/unlock and collision detection unlock.
