South Korea’s KGM (formerly known as SsangYong) has announced the Australian pricing and specifications of its first all-electric ute ahead of start of sales on December 1, 2025.

The KGM Musso EV is an electric version of the company’s venerable diesel-powered ute, however it’s not based on a body-on-frame chassis. Rather it has a monocoque chassis much like the Actyon and Torres.

Also unlike many dual-cab utes, the rear suspension is a multi-link setup, which is typically oriented more towards passenger comfort than outright payload capacity. There are also self-levelling shock absorbers.

In Australia three variants are being offered, with pricing starting from $60,000 drive-away and extending to $64,000 drive-away. For context, the top-spec KGM Musso XLV Ultimate diesel dual-cab ute costs $53,000 drive-away.

There currently aren’t many electric utes in Australia. The first was the poorly received LDV eT60, however, there are more set to be arriving soon. These include the Toyota HiLux BEV and the Isuzu D-Max EV.
