Kia Australia has increased pricing for all its models bar two for the start of the new year.
The more recently launched Niro small SUV and Sportage mid-size SUV managed to dodge price rises, but the Picanto micro hatchback, Rio light hatchback, Cerato small car, Stinger large sedan, Carnival people mover, Stonic light SUV, Seltos small SUV and Sorento large SUV didn’t.
Specifically, the Picanto’s pricing (plus on-road costs) is up $300-500, meaning its range now stretches from $15,990 to $20,490 (see full pricing table below).
Apart from the SX grade, the Rio ($19,690-25,590) has risen $600, while the Cerato ($25,990-35,790) and Stinger ($51,250-64,960) have jumped $500 and $1000, respectively.
The Stonic ($21,990-30,490) and Seltos ($27,290-42,700) have also been upped by $500, while the Sorento ($47,650-80,330) has risen $800-1000, and the Carnival ($47,480-67,580) has jumped $600.
Speaking to CarsGuide, a Kia Australia spokesperson confirmed no changes had been made to the standard equipment of any model.
Instead, they said: “The increase across the range is due to external factors such as exchange rates and business costs.”
