Isuzu D-Max 2020: First look at all-new Toyota HiLux rival

The Isuzu D-Max is set for a significant overhaul, with an all-new model teased ahead of an official reveal on October 19.

The Thai teaser trailer, called "Infinite Potential", is a little light on for details, but local media suggests it will present an overhaul of both design and cabin technology.

According to TopGear Thailand, the all-new D-Max will get an updated interior treatment with better materials, an Apple CarPlay-equipped touchscreen and a new design for the cabin controls.

The video does show a far more modern-looking cabin, with the air-con now accessed by a thin row of silver switches.

Outside, you'll find LED headlights and DRLs, and LED tail lights in square and stacked design.

While engine and gearbox specifics are yet to be confirmed, we can see from the interior switches that off-road ability remains a priority, and international media reports suggest it will be offered with a choice of the overseas-only 1.9-litre diesel engine, as well as the existing 3.0-litre diesel (130kW and 430Nm), which will be powered by either a six-speed automatic or six-speed manual.

The 2020 D-Max will be revealed in full on October 19, which would see it arrive in Australia next year.
