Hot Mazda concepts set for SEMA

While the motoring world anxiously awaits replacements for the hot Mazda3 and 6 MPS models, the Japanese carmaker has prepared four new tuned concepts to whet our whistle at next week’s SEMA show in the US.

Teaser images released by Mazda confirm that both sedan and hatch versions of the new 3 have been fettled, while the two 6 show cars are both sedans.

All feature a ground-hugging stance with aftermarket wheels and unique decal packages, with all bar the white 6 featuring subtle body extensions and a front splitter.

The only hint of drivetrain details are the "CS6 Diesel" decals on the grey 6. The SkyActiv-D turbodiesel drivetrain is set to arrive statestide from mid-2014, so the concept is likely aimed at improving the fuel-type’s cool factor in the traditionally petrol-preferring US market.

Further details will have to wait until the Las Vegas aftermarket show opens on November 5.
