2025 is certainly shaping up as the year of electric car bargains with Hyundai the latest brand to announce a major limited-time offer.

Until March 31, the South Korean brand will contribute between $15,000 and $20,000 to the up-front cost of an Ioniq 6 sedan when financed directly through Hyundai.

The $15,000 discount is applicable to the rear-wheel drive Dyanmiq and all-wheel drive Techniq variants, which are typically priced at $71,500 to $82,000 (before on-road costs), respectively.

For example, if you decide to purchase a Dyanmiq, the new retail price (when financed through Hyundai) is $51,500, before on-road costs.

The biggest saving of $20,000 is reserved for the top-spec, dual-motor, all-wheel drive Epiq.

Typically priced at $87,288, before on-road costs, it gets a new price of $67,288.

Hyundai said there are 230 units of the Ioniq 6 built before July 2024 available for this offer across Australia.

It doesn’t just stop there, though, with Hyundai announcing a $5000 reduction for all variants of the Kona Electric under the same terms.

That sees the cost of a mid-spec Kona Electric with N Line packaging fall from $62,000 to $ 57,000 (both before on-road costs).

Similarly, limited stock of the Kona Electric remains, with Hyundai confirming 371 units built before July 2024 are available Australia-wide.

As an added sweetener, both models also qualify for a free Autel MaxiCharger Type 2 22kW charger, which can be set up to charge your EV at home. It is valued at $1500.

Alternatively, buyers can opt for an EVIE public charging voucher up to the same value, which allows you to charge your car for free at accredited EVIE charging stations until the $1500 limit is reached.

The deal does not apply if you choose to purchase an Ioniq 6 or Kona Electric up front.
