2021 Isuzu D-Max pricing and specs detailed: New Toyota HiLux, Ford Ranger, Mitsubishi Triton, Mazda BT-50 and Nissan Navara rival gets dearer
Isuzu Ute Australia (IUA) has increased the recommended retail pricing but not the standard specification of the third-generation D-Max ute, which launched last September.
All variants are now $1000 dearer, with the new Toyota HiLux, Ford Ranger, Mitsubishi Triton, Mazda BT-50 and Nissan Navara rival’s range now starting from $33,200 plus on-road costs and reaching $63,900 (see full pricing table below).
That said, the entry-level manual 4x2 SX single-cab chassis and flagship automatic 4x4 X-Terrain dual-cab pick-up remain available with driveaway pricing, at $29,990 and $59,990 respectively.
IUA director of sales and marketing Koichiro Yoshida said: “IUA has not taken the decision to increase pricing lightly and has deeply considered all options.
“But, in lieu of increasing costs associated with the 21MY Isuzu D-Max, we see no option but to implement this price increase.”
For buyers that ordered a D-Max prior to April 1, IUA will honour their agreed price, with the increase only affecting orders placed from today onwards.
For reference, the D-Max is available in four grades: entry-level SX, mid-range LS-M and LS-U, and flagship X-Terrain, with single-, extra- and dual-cab configurations offered alongside chassis and pick-up body-styles.
A 140kW/450Nm 3.0-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine motivates all variants. It’s mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque-converter automatic with rear-wheel drive (4x2) or four-wheel drive (4x4).
