2015 Porsche Cayenne GTS | new car sales price

Updated Porsche Cayenne GTS SUV to arrive in Australian showrooms early 2015 with turbo V6 power.

Most of Porsche’s refreshed Cayenne SUV range goes on sale later this month, but fans of the sports-flavoured Cayenne GTS will have to wait until February.

Priced from $154,600, the new GTS will sit between the new $139,200 Cayenne S E-Hybrid and the top-spec $230,800 Cayenne Turbo in the Australian lineup, but the big news for the updated GTS is an all-new engine with two fewer cylinders and a pair of turbos added.

Ditching the old 309kW/515Nm naturally aspirated 4.8-litre V8 for a new 323kW/600Nm twin-turbo 3.6-litre V6, the more powerful engine also boasts improved fuel efficiency by around 0.9L/100km, bringing the combined consumption figure down to 9.8L/100km.

The updated GTS is also faster than before, completing the 0-100km/h dash in 5.2 seconds – or 5.1 with the optional Sport Chrono Pack.

The old model took 5.7 seconds to hit the same speed, while the range-topping Turbo takes just 4.5 seconds to hit 100km/h thanks to its 382kW/750Nm twin-turbo V8.

As standard, the GTS is fitted with a sports exhaust system and 390mm front/358mm rear brakes with red callipers pinched from the range-topping Turbo model.

The GTS is also fitted with PASM adaptive dampers and air suspension with a ride height set 20mm lower than lesser Cayenne models for improved dynamics.

Visually the GTS adopts a sportier appearance wearing the Turbo’s more aggressive front bumper, plus new side sills, wheel arch extensions, roof spoiler and lower rear bumper.

Certain trimmings are also finished in black to give a menacing look, these include the 20-inch ‘RS Spyder’ alloy wheels, exhaust tailpipes, all exterior lettering, and certain elements of the head and taillights. ‘GTS’ lettering can also be found on the front doors.

The new Cayenne GTS also features an electric tilt/slide sunroof and eight-way electrically adjustable and heated front sports seats with leather and Alcantara upholstery.

Buyers can also option different coloured rev counter clock faces, decorative stitching and coloured seatbelts.
