2014 Mitsubishi Outlander | new car sales price

Mitsubishi has given its Outlander mid-size SUV a subtle refresh for 2014, just 16 months after the third-generation ZJ model’s arrival on the Australian market.

Styling tweaks include a revised grille and new chin skidplate, along with unpainted plastic details to the front bumper, wheelarches and foglight surrounds. At the rear, there’s another silver skidplate and silver luggage rails are on the roof.

The top-level Outlander Aspire models are now fitted with the same snowflake-pattern 18 inch wheels as the Outlander PHEV that arrives in April, along with the plug-in model’s LED taillights.

On the inside, the ES and LS models gain new cloth trim with leather inserts on the LS, and the leather-clad Aspire now features textured silver detailing in place of the dated woodgrain used previously.

All Outlanders benefit from revised suspension settings, with a new spring mount isolator and revised shock absorbers to improve ride and mid-corner stability.

Outlanders with the 2.0-litre and 2.4-litre petrol engines also benefit from cabin noise improvements and an upgraded CVT automatic (where fitted) for performance and feel off the mark.  The LS and Aspire 2.2-litre turbodiesel models have seen their combined fuel consumption rating drop from 6.2L/100km to 5.8L/100km.

All Outlander variants now feature an Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), that flashes the hazard lights under emergency braking to help warn other motorists. ESS adds to the Outlander’s existing range-wide five star safety rating and five year/130,000km warranty and four-year capped price servicing plan.
