Asked by Zane
We are a family of four looking to tow a full-size caravan (3000 kg+) on a trip around Australia. We would only like to pay a maximum of $40,000. I am 6 foot 4 inches so don't fit in many 4WDs. Can you please advise what car would be the best option for both purchasing and spare parts if things go wrong along the way?
Answered by CarsGuide
16 Aug 2019The car you want will need to have a towing rating of 3500 kg, which cuts the field down considerably. Your best bet is probably a used Toyota Landcruiser, it would tow your caravan, and parts are readily available in most parts of the country.
