MY 1997 Mercedes-Benz C180 has 64,168km on the clock and I do less than 2000km a year. Because of the low mileage, my mechanic recommends I have it serviced every six months, whereas the dealer says every 12 months because of the long-life synthetic engine oil. I try to use the car every month, and only on long distances for at least an hour. Is the mechanic correct, or is the dealer right?
IF YOU start it at least every week and run it for long enough to properly warm the engine, gearbox and diff, I would say you could follow the dealer's instructions.
