Petrol or diesel Santa Fe?

Asked by Peter Heading

I'm looking at an occasional seven-seat SUV for our family of four. I like the size and reputation of the Hyundai Santa Fe but as we'll only do about 15,000km a year I'm not sure diesel is the way to go. Is there anything in the petrol range of seven-seater SUVs to compare to the Santa Fe?

There is also a petrol-engined Santa Fe. The crossover point for getting the money back on diesel power is about 30,000km a year.
