    P-plater restrictions for towing?

    Can a P-plater tow with the same weight restrictions as a full car licence holder?

    If you hold a P1 (red) licence, that is you are in your first year of driving on a P-plate you are not allowed to tow. The only exceptions are if you need to tow in the course of your employment and your boss asks you to tow, or are engaged in a primary industry, or an experienced driver is alongside you. There are no restrictions to towing if you have a P2 (green) licence.
