Let's talk turbo

If I bought a turbocharger kit could I fit it up myself? Does one kit suit all and is it easy to fit? I do have a mechanical background, so I understand the basics. When the kit is fitted, is there a big difference in terms of power and does the fuel consumption go up? In other words, does the mileage drop?

WITHOUT knowing the car you want to turbocharge, it's hard to advise you. But I would suggest you seek out a turbocharging specialist who will be able to advise on what you can and can't do with your car. A lot of kits are available for different makes and models and you need to get the correct set-up to get the best out of your car. Generally, a turbocharger boosts power significantly, but if driven with a light right foot can reduce fuel usage.
